Probably the most anticipated sporting event of the year is the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is the competition between the AFC and NFC champions of the NFL.
The first Super Bowl was played on January 15th 1967 in the Los Angeles Coliseum. This first game was between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers won, 35-10.
The trophy that is given to the victors every year is the Vince Lombardi Super Bowl Trophy. This is named in honor of the former Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi. The trophy is valued at $12,500 and is made by Tiffany & Co. |
